Alderwoman Miya Warfield Bates

Miya Bates is a native of Madison County. She attended Madison Central High School and graduated in 2009. Miya completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting in 2013. She attended Mississippi College where she earned her master's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting in 2014.

Miya currently works at Matthews, Cutrer, & Lindsay P.A. (MCL) located in Ridgeland, MS. At MCL, she works closely with a host of non-profit clients around the state. Miya also teaches dance at Repeat Performance Dance Studio located in the heart of Gluckstadt, MS.

Miya is married to her husband, Joshua. They moved to Gluckstadt, MS immediately after getting married in 2015. The Bates are members of Pilgrim Rest Church in Madison, MS. She is currently a member of the Madison County (MS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and serves on the MS Family Advisory Support Team at Children's of Mississippi. They also have three children: Joshua Jr., Adonis "AJ", and Dominic Zayne.
